Aye! That was a challenge! They said that my posts based upon and inspired from Instagram shots taken in Ikaria are ok, but they’d rather see instead my own old or newer photos time and again, because, as they said, they are dowed with a quality different from I/G. And that quality is, as they said again, that they are fundamental. I am not really sure of the meaning and I will certainly not bother anybody with guesses. Whatever they meant, I straightforwardly took it as a compliment, and as a gesture of thanks, I am assembling this post with the idea of fundamentality flashing in my head, and as I am doing so, I realize that I know no other with this attribute (i.g. fundamental) than freedom, nature and womanhood.
Therefore, behold my friends and supporters, under a title borrowed from one of my albums on Flickr a total of eighty-eight (including the header) photos about freedom, nature and womanhood, the last two interrelating, interchanging, interacting. There is also some sport and a bit of farming and other stuff too, ok? Being fundamental doesn’t mean being always coherent, I think. 😉

There you are, I’m done with my secret Ikarian coves. Some say I shouldn’t have given them out, that I should have kept the secret etc. I thought so myself years ago. But I have changed my mind. Though these places are marked in the latest map as «swimming spots» ≅ the fact is that they are hardly accessible to the average summer visitor 
So I doubt if you meet anybody there but an occasional cow or goat. Nevertheless, be respectful and careful and let others enjoy them too. Check out a few related old entries of our blogs if you wish. We have been going there since 2007 and as long as we can, we will still go! Who knows, some day a shipwrecked Odysseus may land at our feet.

Ασχέτως ότι είχα μια μακρινή πλην κρίσιμη ανάμιξη ως scout στα δρώμενα που εμφανίζονται στην καταχώρηση, κι ασχέτως που κολακεύτηκα που ο συντάκτης ακολούθησε τις συμβουλές μου για το format, ασχέτως εντέλει ότι το θέμα αναφέρεται στον περασμένο Ιούνη ενώ τώρα έχουμε αρχές φθινοπώρου, βασικά τούτο δω είναι τεστ στο reblogging από wordpress σε blogpost.

κι έτσι και φέτος πάλι συζητάγαμε “είναι καιρός να πάμε”, “πότε θα πάμε;”, ποιοί θα ΄ρθουν”, “ποιός μπορεί;”, “ποιός δεν μπορεί;”, τελικά μια μέρα η Ξένια βρήκε στην πλατεία δυο φίλους της και αντί να κάθονται για καφέ, απλά ξεκίνησαν για τη Χάλαρη.
Κατέβηκαν στο φαράγγι από την είσοδο στον Προφήτη Ηλία (λίγο μετά το Οινοποιείο Αφιανέ) με αρχικό προορισμό τα “Διπόταμα” (ή “Διπλοπόταμα”).
α) η τελευταία φωτογραφική αναφορά που είχαμε από το Ράτσο ήταν όταν φίλοι έκαναν canyoning στηνπεριοχή από το Φράγμα της Χάλαρης μέχρι τα Διπόταμα. Όμως χρόνια μετά, τα καρφιά δεν εντοπίστηκαν. Ποιός ξέρει;

Δυο σε Ένα
Αντιηλιακό λάδι (φυσικό, χειροποίητο με βάση το ελαιόλαδο) ΚΑΙ Εντομοαπωθητικό διότι το λάδι περιέχει (στην κυριολεξία) φρέσκους βλαστούς Αψιθιάς (ARTEMISIA ABSINTHIUM). Μια προσφορά σε όλους όσους περνούν πολλές ώρες το καλοκαίρι στην ύπαιθρο για δουλειά, άθληση και διασκέδαση από εμένα, την egotoagrimi.
Στην αρχή μυρίζει λίγο περίεργα (σίγουρα όμως καλυτερα από τη γλυκερή μθρωδιά της σιτρονέλας). Γι’ αυτό να αφήσουμε 2 μέρες τους βλαστούς μέσα στο λάδι να δαμάσουν ώστε να φύγει η πολλή αψιά μυρωδιά. Το μίγμα δουλεύει θαυμαστά κι έτσι μπορούμε να ήμαστε το καλοκαίρι όσο γυμνοί και ακάλυπτοι θέλουμε.

.Μέχρι να γράψω τα δικά μου επί του τσιμπητικού αυτού θέματος επί του οποίου θέλω να πιστεύω πως είμαι ειδική γιατί πέφτω πολλές φορές πάνω σε φωλιές καθώς τριγυρνώ στους αγριότοπους της Ικαρίας, διαβάστε τη Wikipedia.

Ξέρω μια γυναίκα εδώ που είναι τόσο «καλή» που την παρανομάζουν «φαηδόνα». Πήγαινα να κουρευτώ και χωρίς καλά-καλά να με ξέρει, γύρισε καιμου είπε, «Καλά τι να το κάνεις το κούρεμα εσύ; Δεν κοιτάς τα χάλια σου! Το κούρεμα σου ΄λειπε»
Ι know a woman here who is so «nice» that they call her «the wasp». Once I met her on my way to the barber’s. We hardly know each other. Yet she turned and told me, «Hey, what do you need a haircut for? Don’t you see you are total wreck? A haircut won’t save you.»

.This is Master Natrix Natrix –the watersnake. The beautiful Latin name which reminds of names for submarines or jet planes or missiles, fits him perfectly. Master Natrix swims like a torpedo. If you are not a frog, don’t be afraid of him. He doesn’t have poison. He simply doesn’t need it. Though I know this very well, yet many times I have freaked out while dipping in a calm pool when I saw Master Natrix blast off across from one side to the other. They tell me that I should slam on the surface of water and the snake would make a U turn on the spot and hide away.

But I was never able to do that. All the 3 times I saw Master Natrix, I screamed and jumped out of the water. It is harmless, nevertheless. It’s like a torpedo without a load or an arrow without a sharp point. And it never aims on humans. Yet, it’s freakish. The fear of snakes is very deep inside us.
Στην Ικαρία διηγούνται κάτι μυστήριες ιστορίες για κάποια πλάσματα που ζουν στους ποταμούς και είναι, λέει, επικίνδυνα. Τα ονομάζουν «μολόπια» και δαγκώνουν, λένε, πολύ άσχημα. Πολλές φορές ρωτήσαμε μήπως εννοούν τα νερόφιδα ή μήπως, ας πούμε, τα χέλια ή τα μεγάλα καβούρια; Κανείς δεν ήταν σίγουρος να μας πει τι ακριβώς. Ρωτήσαμε κάποιους πιο διαβασμένους και μας είπαν ότι τα «μολόπια» είναι θρύλος. Μπορεί να είναι οτιδήποτε. Πρόκειται για πλάσματα μεταξύ πραγματικού και φανταστικού. Ίσως ήταν κάτι για να τρομάζουν τα μικρότερα παιδιά για να μην ακολουθούν τα μεγαλύτερα στους ποταμούς. «Μην πας εκεί κάτω γιατί θα σε φάει το μολόπι». Κάτι τέτοιο.
Μετά τη πρώτη φορά πάντως ούτε εγώ ούτε η Ελένη φοβόμαστε. Τα νερόφιδα είναι καλά. ❤
