Oh no! 😮 All I need is one house to house myself in 🙂
I was like a snail. I have grown changing shells, moving into shells that weren’t mine, fixing them so I could fit. This one is the special one that I bought so as to be my last
-and the first of my children.

«… An in-between, fluid condition that makes you think, almost spontaneously, of the visual violence modern residences inflict upon the landscape, standing out, as they do, multi-storey blocks in white and other bright colours. This is the engineer demonstrating the arbitrary triumph of their construction on the top of the hill. This visual violence becomes more pronounced in Ikaria, as all kinds of constructions succeed one another in the landscape, and your impressions may shift from one condition to the other in the course of a single journey…»

That’s clever, how wordpress links things like this. I like: «Just by entering the hollow created by the rock in Theoktista houses, grips you with feelings of euphoria and awe, both at the same time.»
Here’s wishing you all some euphoria and awe in 2010, wherever your hollow may be!

Too poetic an analysis for a Professor in Clinical Sociology!!!. It seems that there is not much else to do in the University of the Aegean than write and apparently some of them write well. I liked it of course. Some things have to be said.
I am looking through the way WP linked you up, SG. That was cool.
Euphoria and Awe, oh yes, and if possible Euphorbia (acanthothamnos) in the picture as well. 🙂

Well, thanks Marianna! 🙂
Let’s say that we fell in each other’s hands. The place has an enveloping aura. Come and see it if you know your way around.

Hello Marianna. I am Nana the actual owner of this blog.
You have many good photos from life in Karpathos in Picasaweb. I enjoyed looking at them. Somethings tells you are the same «amaris» who send greetings in the blog of the Mountain Club of Ikaria. The islands need poeple like you to be there. It’s so hopeful.
