This is Master Afialakas, a large venomous spider living in some forests in the mountains of Greece. The Eresus walckenaeri, though very rare now, is found in Ikaria as well. Yes, it is what it looks.

I’d rather not say, nor have I given Nana the info and the story she had waited for. But since you asked, this is the «bird-eater». It lives on trees and jumps from branch to branch to catch birds. It can jump on the ground too as high as 2 meters. So sometimes they call it the jumper spider. Brrrr!…
