THREATS

(to match Eleni’s “TRUTHS”)

These two pictures, I uploaded to make a sensation and attract attention. I borrowed them from the Photo Files of the hikingIkaria group. Long ago Eleni had created this file to put in pictures that she found and borrowed from www.dpgr.gr. They are copyrighted etc. etc. but we appeal the right of nativity. These two pictures were taken in Ikaria. What you see is a Coluber snake swallowing a live dinosaur-o-morphus lizard: an agama stellio –the crocodile of the Aegean.

With “THREATS” I intend to make a list of the terrible natural threats we encounter in the wild places of Ikaria. Start tre~mbl~ing~ NOW! This is going to be worse than Jurassic Park!

This weekend I hiked a trail where the signpost said “Beware of ticks, poison oak, rattlesnakes, cliffs and other hazards” It proved a magical place! Terrible natural threats, they heighten sensitivity and make us feel more alive, here and there I am sure.
